Good afternoon, Siem Reap and Beyond!

Today, we are pleased to share a stunning new work by artist Loun Lon (Salone).

The painting she created for FEAST is somewhat of a departure from her normal genre/pastoral works featuring the people and countryside scenes of Cambodia.

In this work, Salone depicts a highly unique rendition of a vegetable basket featuring lush vegetables native to Cambodia. Brilliant red bell peppers, root vegetables, eggplants and gourds all spill from the classic plastic straining bowl ubiquitous to the country. A unique background sets the stage for this vegetable basket - a calming swirl of blue seems to emerge from behind the verdant scene, lending a sense of mystery to this ordinarily "normal" scene.
